As an events and communications company, St James’s House has a long history of working with representatives of government and the Royal Family on major national celebrations and communications initiatives.
For 2016, we have been appointed to produce the official commemorative album for The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration – the only publication sanctioned and endorsed by the organisers.
Taking place from 12 to 15 May 2016 in Home Park, Windsor Castle, Her Majesty’s 90th Birthday Party will celebrate The Queen’s life, her dedication to the Commonwealth and international affairs, her involvement with the armed forces and her love of horses. On each evening, 900 horses and more than 1,500 people from around the world will participate in a joyful event for The Queen. The 90-minute show will take the audience from her birth, through the Second World War, her marriage, her coronation and a reign of more than 60 years, and will incorporate actors, bands and dancers to tell the story. The final performance will be broadcast live on ITV and will feature well-known hosts, narrators and singers from the British entertainment world.
As the official publisher for The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration, we have been entrusted with telling the Queen’s story in an accessible and engaging way. Illustrated with archive photographs of the Queen in both formal and informal contexts, the book will celebrate the Queen’s life and reign, and highlight important national and international developments during her lifetime. All in all, more than 25,000 VIPs, guests and spectators will attend the birthday celebrations in Windsor, and the television coverage and commemorative album will enable these celebrations to reach an even wider audience.
